Today the weather is nice and I wanted to go for a drive. I took the truck to the car wash. I sprayed it down and got it all cleaned up. Started the truck up in tune 1, thats how I have always started it. I flipped it to tune 4, my economy tune, and tried to leave. As soon as the truck had a load on the engine, it would stall out. I went back to 1 and started it to see if it would drive there, it started just fine, but thats all it did... Still would not drive. I decided to let it idle for a while, and after letting it idle for about 5 minutes, I was able to drive away. The problem is now, the chip will not go into tune 6, I can go through all the tunes, 1-5 and it will change the settings and everything else, but it will not go past 5. I unplugged the cable from the EX switcher, and plugged it back in and nothing changed.
Curious what could cause this? I don't think it is water in the PCM or anything, I did not was the engine or anything, just the out side to get all the mag chloride off of it.
Sounds like you got a bad connection on the PCM?
Did you pull the PCM to clean it?
I only use a stock tune to turn my truck on in cold weather.
Then i switch to my high idle, cause it drops the idle down a bit from where it would normally warm up at.
Now just to turn on the EPBV switch setup thing.
Wait, off topic, Doh!
Could you explain the whole "no go" when you changed settings?
Could be a bad switch too, I know my PHP chip came with a really high quality switch.

Ill upload the video... but the truck was stalling out in all postions, and it was going into 6 then. Then I shut the truck off, and restarted it, and it no longer would go into postion 6.
I can't watch it unforuantly. and yoru last video crashed my computer, which was strange. haha
did you clean the PCM contacts with the PCM out of the truck?
You might just have a bad connection on the PCM.
contacts at the PCM were cleaned. not sure how it would work on the first 5 tunes, but not the last one if it was a problem with it connecting to the PCM.
Well i reset the EX switcher, and programed it to go to another setting. Now it will go into tune 6. Not sure if it is the same as tune 5 or not, but I will find out when I drive it here in a bit...
i had to reset that to go to the other tune... And i bet i figured out my stalling issue too, i think my back tank may be out of fuel...reads about a 1/4 tank, but i put it to the front tank and after I did that, it never stalled...
hmmm. i will stay easy and just ask some questions.. did you tape the chip in place after setting it in the PCM??? also when you reset the switch are you able to go into all settings now?? Jody is going to have to fix this for you i'm sure.

Yes, I taped it in the PCM.
Also once i reset the switch, I can now go to all the settings.
