Incentive Wars

Even Toyota is getting into the action with their new Tundra. $1,500 cash "kicker" on their base model. 3.9% on all others. GM has $1K on their new trucks PLUS 0% 3 year financing. Chrysler offering $5K PLUS a free hemi upgrade. Someone posted that Ford is offering $3K PLUS 0% 5 year interest loans. A buyers market indeed.

Tundra just went to a $2k rebate down here. They're just sitting on the local lots. Very few on the road.

Ford has either $3000 cash back OR 0% up to 60 mos. on F150 (2.9% for 72).

Either OR makes more sense. As for the Tundra? TOO ugly and TOO expensive. A dressed out extended is $41K. That ain't going to get it IMHO.

With so many vehicles prices near what you could buy a home for 20 years ago, there is bound to be lots of room for incentives. What is the trade in blue book for the same vehicle 2 years from now is what you should be asking yourself. Many dealers are giving thousands less than blue book for trades knowing full well the depreciation that huge incentives bring on their used car lots.
