My upper passenger and lower drivers side balljoints are bad so i am going to replace all four any tips on doing this? i have never done ball joints so any help will be helpful.
Nope,
If its 4wd it can have ball joints at the steering knuckles (at least on the Dana 44 in my Chiltons it does). Only thing is they call them "ball studs" not joints lol. It says that you can use a hydraulic press or 2 jaw gear puller to make it easier but that it can be done with a mallet and a large socket as well.
Anyways ...Welcome to the board Clint, and for future reference you may want to be a bit more descriptive in telling us what youre working on...that way we can narrow it down and give ya the best info we have.

NO F150 2WD had ball joints till 1987.
ONLY 1973/79 F150's to use ball joints are the 4 X 4's. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Wait a minute... lol so I went and looked it up hehe. Now of course he could have a kitbashed truck where its a 79 body on a 198x or newer frame but...he wasnt really specific

That's the problem here as well as any parts counter. Ppl ask for help, but don't list basic information.

We work behind a computer......in a FTE parts store.
Sometimes we're called a genius...sometimes we're called much more.
We are supposed to know the numbers...of bolts, nuts and gears...
For every Ford that was ever made in more than 60 years.
But life would be much easier...and we'd grin from ear to ear.
If the original poster would tell us...the make, model and year!
I picked up an OTC ball joint press a while ago, and it's damn handy to have. Works great on u-joints, too. I bought mine used for about $70, but I had to buy the correct adapters for Ford 4X4 ball joints. If you don't want to spend the coin, buy a used one off e-Bay, use it, and re-sell it. You might even make money off it.
BTW, I also used mine to replace my axle pivot bushings.
