confused about getting ABS codes
I have a 2001 E350 van the ABS light came on the other day. It has 4 wheel ABS. I did a search on ABS light and some say you need a scanner and others say you can use a paper cilp to ground a wire. If so which one do I need to do? What wire can I ground?
Did you ever get a response on this? I have recently learned that the rear speed sensor that mounts on the differential goes bad frequently. That causes the ABS light to come on. Apparently they are only about 25 bucks and easy to replace yourself. I am slapping myself because I paid several hundred to have the dealter diagnose mine and then replace it. For $25 bucks I would have given it it a shot myself.
if you have ANYTHING going wrong on a newer vehicle the BEST way is to get a scanner on the computer for the OBD2 systems. So if you know a technician that has a scanner you can use when hes not busy for some beer or a few bucks, do it. And Scottspoerry is right replacing it yourself, also cost effective. good luck
