dead spot in throttle

dead spot in throttle

when the early 99 psd is cold, and i take off, there is a spot in my throttle that brings rpms down. never does it when its warm. would a tps do this?

Yes it's the tps if it's trying to return to idle with the pedal depressed. You need a new pedal assembly to fix it. Check over at Dieselsite, Bob sells the replacments for $120. It's an easy swap.

sounds like your ebpv(exhust back pressure valve)is still tring to warm up your truck so throttle will drop . does it on my early 99 too till warm that normal!

ill put on a new pedal....my baby does have 193k on the clock!

curious if the new pedal fixed this? I have the same kind of thing happen. In the morning, around 1600rpm I feel it go dead or lose power just for an instant. Some days the truck seems more sluggish than others. I recently disabled the ebpv, and I thought it had cured the problem, but it happened again this morning..
