Just bought a 1970 F150 with a 302 & C4. I have owned others before, but, never a 302.
The truck has a low speed miss but runs well as you accelerate. If you let the truck just ease along and don't accelerate it bucks slightly as you hold the gas pedal steady. It idles OK but the choke dosn't work and it is 'cold blooded'.
I think I need a new or re-con 2 bbl Carb.
Where is the best place to get one?
I look forward to helping and being helped as I get this thing going right.
Frum da 'ills o' Eest Tenusea, welcome . We're glad to hav ya along for da ride. Click on "Forums" and scroll down to what interests you. There will be a few. Keep da wheels turnin' an' Njoy da ride.
Will a carb from a 360 be jetted properly for a 302? If so I still have my remanufactured Motorcraft 2150 from my 70 F250 (RIP). If it'll work, shoot me a message and I can get you some pics and info of it.

Dunno, all my tools are still in storage at Atlas Van Lines so I can't do any REAL work. I only kept the basics out for the trip.
I am new to Ford stuff so I have a ton 'o' stuff to learn. Carbs are not my thing for sure. I can rebuild an engine but I have NO luck on Carbs over the years. I guess I am Carborationally Challenged. I usually just slap an Edelbrock on it and my problems are over. This time it's a 2 barrel though
Sorry Ultramagdan, not trying to act like a salesman in the forums, just throwing that out there.
Usdart, if you ask around here and find it'll work, let me know. It's just a 7/16" wrench to take the carb off, and a flathead for adjustment.
I'm aiming at throwing an Edelbrock onto my rig when I get out of smog country...
Oh yeah, and WELCOME TO FTE!
usdart - Frum da 'ills o' eest Tenusea, -the preferred meal. Gives some ol'tarts a reason to expound. Give a look at, "forums","List". There will be a bunch of threads that are specific to your rig. Make a list. Keep the wheels turnin' an' on da down-side, lest U'r an off-roder.
No more missing or bucking etc...now all I have to do is work out a kickdown connection to it. It is short by about an inch and connects differently. No sweat though, that's the easy stuff.
Now I need a heater control valve that connects inline on the heater hose. The heater stays on all the time.
Being new, I don't have any parts books or ideas where on line to get the parts. A lil help maybe?
