vibration noise

I have a 1998 F150 with about 150K miles on it. It is an 8 cylinder 4x4. If I drive down the road say at 65 mph I hear nothing until I take my foot off of the gas. I feel a vibration, and hear slight vibration noise. It is nothing that shakes the truck but I can feel and hear the vibration. As soon as I apply my foot to the gas and speed up the vibration goes away. If I let the truck slow down another 2 or 3 mph the vibration goes away also. It occurs at any consistant speed above 50 mph. It is not real loud and does not shake the truck but I can feel and hear the vibration and I think it is getting worse. My question is if it is transmission or drive shaft related. I am not sure it I should take it to a transmission guy or a general mechanic.

Thanks

I would start by checking the U-joints. If you remove the rear driveshaft you'll be able to feel for a loose or a seized joint.
If that's not it then the next likely culprit would be bad bearings in the rear diff.
