I need your advise. I'm feeling, or actually kind of "hearing" a vibration that starts at about 50mph through 60-65 mph. It's the worst at 55mph. I've got the V10 (2000 4x4 SC) with auto trans, about 68,000 mi. I had new tires (Stock 265/75's) balanced and put on last week, still does it. I've placed it in nuetral while at 55mph, still does it. I've put the transfer case in 4H and drove at 55mph... still does it. I had the drive shaft removed to have the U-joints checked as well as the balance of the shaft. After $80 the guy informed me that the U-joints were fine, the shaft was not out of balance, he put it back in and ... you guessed it, it still does it. Where do I look now? The drive shaft guy recommended that it may be a stuck clutch in the torque converter. Ever heard of this? Any other recommendations?

Vibration @ 55mph
Guys like Forty can probably give you the best advise on topics like these. My mechanically uneducated thoughts, though, would be to have the balance checked on your tires. Stranger things have happened than to have new tires lose their balance. Did you have this issue before you bought thew new shoes for your truck?
Oops. Yeah, I forgot to mention that I had the vibration prior to changing tires. Initially, I thought the old tires might have been out of balance causing the vibration. After changing the tires, I get the exact same feeling at the exact same speeds.
I had the same situation with mine. Vibration started around 45-50 and lasted until areound 60. Tokk mine to the deealre and they said the U joints were too tight, replaced them and now the vibration is gone. Maybe you should try another dealer. let them see what they think.
Happy Holidays to all,,I just wanted to ad this I have a 99' F-350,4x4,SC, DRW, w/9' dump body,I just replaced all 6 tires at 44k miles and my truck also has this kinda irratating vibration starts around 40 mph and ends like around 60 mph any ideas? I have heard of greasing the slip joint on the driveshaft ? Has anyone had success with this? I was hoping it was the old tires,,but still does it,,,
My BRAND NEW F350 dually had a similiar problem around 50-55mph with only about 500 miles on it. Ford bought me a new rear end gear assembly (3.73)! Maybe you might want to have a service rep check it out. They told me there was no history, but didn't hesitate once the Service Manager heard the noise. Got somewhere around 1300 miles on it now and it "Seems" O.K.
let me know how I can help after you look at this.

Pinpoint Tests
These pinpoint tests are designed to take the technician through a step-by-step diagnosis procedure to determine the cause of a condition. It may not always be necessary to follow a chart to its conclusion. Perform only the steps necessary to correct the condition. Then check the operation of the system to make sure the condition has been corrected. It is sometimes necessary to remove various vehicle components to gain access to the component to be tested. Refer to the applicable section for removal and installation of components. After verifying that the condition has been corrected, make sure all components removed have been installed.
