Recently I posted a question regarding the door ajar indicator staying on. I did the WD-40 trick and it worked like a charm. I replaced the battery because it was dead from having the dome light on chronically. Now there is no more door ajar and the dome lights go off when they should but now my new battery is dead! I have a short somewhere. My rear wiper quit working so Im suspecting that. Any hints?
Thanks

I havent investigated the alternator yet but the battery seems to be fine while running and operating all the electronics in the car, but it is dead in the morning when I go to start it.
My rear wiper stuck twice this winter because of too much snow load.
Both time the truck needed a boost the next morning. I just put the wiper on and off
and manually moved the wiper to its correct resting place and no problem since.
I think there is a battery saver in the Expy so when the drain get to s a certain point
the computer shut every thing down.
I think your problem is related to the rear wiper problem.
I think that even if the wiper is not working, the motor is trying to complete its cycle to the proper resting place.
But I don't understand why it does not cut the power to the wiper motor when the key is turned off.
Hey I did the WD 40 deal and it worked great for me......here's to a few more months of "door ajar" light staying on..!! I sparayed directly into the door handle on the outside while it was in the opening position all over and it worked right away...!! Thanks for the advice..!!
Hi there,
Oddly enough, my battery on my 03 expy was dead yesterday morning. Put a charger on it and it was kaput, would not take a charge. So I put a new battery in, and read this thread.... whereupon i noticed that my rear wiper was not in the proper resting place. weird. So, untill i can figure it out, How did you disconnect the rear wiper motor? (the fuse runs the front wiper moter and instrument cluster, so that is not an option, right?)
