Any speculation as to what they do? Are they lights? Oil slick emitter? Radar jamming device? Ejection seat control? Submarine mode activator? Invisible mode? Fat-chick force-field switches?
1) yes stock air box.... cut it all out and run ya a napa 6637 filter!
2) dont have a clue! can you get a pic from a different angle maybe? any wires come off it?
3) i guess you havent *clearing of throat* TRIED them? lol. could also be a special lighting setup for a trailer the guy had since he has a brake controller i see.
I believe those green buttons do all of the above if pushed in the right sequence... My truck wasn't as fancy and as it did not come with the fat-chick force field or the Submarine mode activator... i talk only from experience =(
On a serious note: 1) ditto to fishmann 2) take it out and see if ur truck runs =D
The real sad part about that stock filter box is the air deflector is missing. It mounts over the battery and takes in cold air from the front of the truck. I would try to get this part and install it if you can find one.
Dump that OEM filter box ASAP.
Search this forum for '6637' or 'kwik filter' for a ton of info.
Well, I agree with everyone about #1 (stock air box) and #2 (mystery button...no clue).
As far as #3, they look like they would activate additional lighting. Since you're not sure what these switches do, should we assume you don't have additional or aftermarket lights attached at various locations on your truck's exterior?
I Bought a 6637 filter today and will get the 4" 45 degree elbow Friday to complete the intake enhancement. I took the air-box off this afternoon just to take a look and it really is a mess. The truck is in such excellent condition I wonder why the air-box is wrecked....
I'll try to track down the wiring for the mystery button on Saturday. It's just such an odd thing- it almost seems like there is something that would press up against it- maybe something magnetic.
As to the switches- there are lights but when I played with them nothing came on. That, of course, begs the question- how do I get the lights on? Maybe these are the switches and there is simply a fault somewhere.
I've got a stock air box lid and intake tube you can have for the cost of the 2 new screws I just put in it. I go the updated hold down screws from ford.
I took it all out and put a big filter in it that can withstand these dust storms.
How's it run ?
I only got mine a couple months ago and love it so far.
That looks like the OBD II port to me, try pulling out on the outer portion. Some of the ports had little dust covers on them. The plug part is underneath.
definitely shaped like an obd II port. look into that.
air box=the duct tape is there so all the dirt that the nasty fram filter lets through will stick to the tape and not wipe the turbo. came out in a tib a while back
but seriously-i would think the switches would have to go to lights. get the multimeter/test light out and see what you can find. are those lights on the running boards too...?
