Need some tag Deciphering help
Hello All,
Well I am the guy that just bought a 2000 X Limited. The tag on the door did not have the Axle rating, so I climbed under the truck and found the other tag. It looks that I have the 4.3 (read Bonus) as I am using it to haul my toy hauler that is about 9000 lb loaded. YEAH, I am a little happy. But what does the L mean??? How about the top line??

The top line is a production number. If you ever need parts for the rear end take that number into your dealer.
The L between the 4 and 30 means Limited Slip.
The 10 and the 2 means it's a 10.25" ring gear.
The 9L27 is when it was built... 1999, L for December, 27th day.
