I just replaced 3 of my 4 stock shocks with bilstein's on my 2wd 6.0 but the front passenger shock top engine compartment is too full to get a rench or socket attached???? Do I need to take some stuff off or get an extension for the socket???
it's a pain man ... I just used a wrench from the wheel well without the tire there. Can't remember completely but I might have trimmed the liner out of the way a little. It's slower with a wrench but I couldn't see that nut from the top at all.
Just did this project myself... All the work is done in the wheel-well. I used a ratcheting wrench (Gearwrench) on the top nut and put a open-end on the nut on top of the shock body - loosened it up from that shock-body nut.
No cutting or trimming needed, just a lot of jerkin' back-and-forth...
