Hot shot rig. Those miles are nothing. My neighbors big truck (1999 Peterbilt 379) has 2.5 million miles.
I meant to take a picture when it was 999999 but I dropped the ball on that one.
So it's over a million now? Wow. What HASN'T worn out yet? How many times did you change the driver's seat and steering wheel?
Nothing. I don't mean that literally, this isn't 'the one and only,' I see these 7.3's with tremendous mileage on them all the time.
It's only been routine stuff...
Three transmissions
Injectors once
four water pumps
a couple u-joints
ball joints
shocks
front wheel bearings (that's nonstop)
four brake jobs up front, twice in the rear
Blah,blah,blah
Like I said, "routine stuff"
I just drove it Saturday and it went down the road pretty good.
BTW the man fueling next to me thirty minutes ago says he's got 770,000 on the ticker. 2001 F-350 cc lwb drw pulling a 5'er from Indiana.
...good night.
Yep, not bad, considering my personal truck (heavily modded) has been through five with only 300,000 on the clock. We'll see if this BTS holds up...
The gentleman at the truckstop I mentioned with 770,000 said he had never had any tranny issues, I thought his eyes were getting darker. He said the valve covers had never been off, I wanted to hand him a shovel. He also stated he averaged around 20 mpg, luckily I was done fueling, I wasn't wearing hip waders.
