I think I will be more inclined to buy a new 08 when they start job 2 builds. I figure at that point they might make small changes to fix problems that show up in the first few months. I wonder if that is a predetermined date or something they decide on the fly? Anyone know?
With their new CEO, survival will be job2. He used to be my CEO, talked all about his loyality to the company, and then bolted as things started to sour. I won't be buying any new ford until he's gone!

First off, Mullaly was never anyone's CEO. He was in charge of BCA, but never Boeing as a whole. Second, he was passed over at least twice for the CEO position at Boeing. If you can't move up, move out. Third, things are looking better than ever, at least for BCA. Some of the strategic moves made by Alan and his team (along with considerable luck) have put Airbus on the ropes. I think 5 years from now we'll see Mullaly's hiring as a turning point for Ford.
Back on topic: I notice that some of the window stickers on 2007 Ford SDs include a Job #2 build identifier. I'm assuming this means that those trucks so identified are part of that 2nd production allotment. Does anyone know what changes are in store for Job #2 on the '08s?
