fuel pump: need some info
Hey guys. I have a 90 f150 4x4 4.9 with dual tanks. The front fuel pump went on me today. I also have a fuel transfer problem. When I run off of the rear tank it fills into the front tank so I am kinda forced to fix this problem now. I learned on this form that my transfer problem was the valve in the front tank is this right? Is there any way I can bypass the front tank for now ,like an in line check valve or something ? So I dont have to replace the front pump right now. Funds are kinda low right now. Also when I do replace the front pump is it worth pulling the bed since I also have some exahust work that needs done. I have heard people on this form say it was worth pulling the bed to fix the fuel problems. Any input would really be appricated thanks guys

Since you have a problem with the tank that you want to fix the pump in and seeing as its full now, I would pull the box off, but I have a forklift, spreader bar and numerous slings. Drain the tank first before messing with it if you are going to leave the box and pull the tank, because its a PITA empty never mind full. From what I have heard on this sight there might have been a recall on this problem that had something to do with a check valve etc, but I doubt ford would fix it now. I am sure that someone else had dealt with this exact problem and have some opinons and insight.
