New wheels for the 07 SD
For this truck ...
Was looking at these 2 wheel choices

The DC-1s are not offered in 18" ...
So, the Pro-Comps it is ...

oem rims are hub-centric where the weight is transferred to the hub instead of the lug nuts.
most aftermarket rims are lug-centric which will mean less weight carrying capacity and stress on your lugs.
lug-centric will have a center bore of 4.xx inches (4.25?)
weld makes em, prob alcoa, not sure who else

OK ... Let's say that each wheel stud has a sheer capacity of 500lb. I be it's 2 or 3 times that, but for argument's sake, 500lbs.
I got 8 of them, so in theory, with proper torque, there should take 4000lbs of force to overcome the wheel studs.
If a single wheel sees vertical forces of 2 tons, I doubt losing a wheel will be at the top of my concerns list.
But, I appreciate very much your adding off-topic content.

My first choice were the Cepek wheels, even though I'm not a huge fan of spoke wheels.
I grew up in the late 60s and 70s. I always have liked slotted mag wheels.

I noticed the offsets are more for the 99-04 years. They will move your wheels out a couple of inches, but shouldn't cause too much greef I don't think. All depends on if the fronts will rub when you turn the wheels. Factory backspacing is close to 5.75" to 6". I can't remember exactly right now.

Good point. I wasn't sure of the factory offset, but the rims I ordered were specific for an '06 SD. An '07 wasn't listed in their catalog and everything I've read lead me to believe they would be the same.
Was that a fair assumption?
