Different water pumps?

I have an 84 bronco with a 351W. I just got it rebuilt and we droped it a few nights ago. Here is the delima, we went to put on the power steering pump and the ac bracket and compressor. But they didn't match up. I bought the water pump from a mustang guy down the road, but another friend of mine said i got the wrong water pump because the ac braket bolts into the water pump and this new one from the mustang guy isn't right. DOes this make any sense to anyone, and are these waterpumps really different. It bolted right up with everything and i took the backing off to make sure the blades spun the same way and everything. Any help would be greatley aprreciated. If you have any pictures of the brackets that would be great too.

Thanks
John

Different water pumps?

I know there is a difference between the old V-belt and the newer serpentine belt drives. I believe they are designed to rotate in different directions. Also cars do use different accessory brackets than a truck.
