Oil Filter Part Number

Our local IH parts department doesn't have a clue about which oil filter to use in a 6.0

Could someone please post the IH part number.

Ask for a VT365 oil filter. They go by the IH engine designation not the Ford designation.

Glad you found it, but dang, that's pretty scary they didn't know that. I know they usually don't work with the 6.0, but....

I would be surprised an International dealer parts person can get you much of anything without the last 8 digits of the VIN off the trucks they sell.
Heck, to get correct filters for your International DT466 you generally need either the VIN, the part number or the engine serial number.

I suppose it heavily reduces returns because of the wrong part..., but what a pain.

Price:

Thanks everyone for the help.

About $21.00 w/sales tax.

Last week I spent about 15 minutes @ the IH parts counter and they finally gave up trying to identify the correct filter.

The trucks & buses International sells have become so complex and equipped in so many differant ways, along with changes and updates, that their parts peoples quickest route is through the VIN. It makes for quick, correct lookups but it tends to make it so their parts people don't even bother to try to remember what fits what.

One thing to keep in mind is Pep Boys has a sale about once a month 2 filters for $7. They will usually sell you our filters but a few people here have run into managers that say the filter isn't included. There is no small print on the coupon stating that though.

I printed the coupon off the Pep Boys web-site and purchased three filters (all they had). The checker was worked up about it, but the manager was standing right there and authorized it. He had no problem with the transaction.

Thank you Chula Vista Pep Boys.
