Mercon, need advise.

What brand would you guys recommend me buying to service my Tranny? I don't want to use synthetic, Just a good name brand Mercon from autozone. This will be the first time i change oil myself on this 2000 Navigator with 83,000 miles. I honestly don't know if it has been changed in the past. I have done many searches on draining the TQ, changing and tranny filter but there is not as many topics on what brands people actually use or suggest. I'd like to get them by the gallon (cheaper, i think) but will buy by the quart/case if i must. Please advise...

All ATF manufactured has to meet the Mercon specs if it's called Mercon. Buy it by the gallon.

I wouldn't worry much about brand either. BTW, there's Mercon and Mercon V, and while the differences aren't that big, make sure you get the right fluid.
