I have a 04 350 6.0 with fuel coming out of radiator over flow tank. Pretty sure this is due to a cracked injector cup. Truck has 146,000 miles and recently replaced injector #5 due to lower o-ring was shot. Looking for any diagnostic help and part numbers for the specialty tools that are required. I do have the AE Diagnastics program in laptop w/ enhanced ford option, however do not know everything it can do at this point.
if it is #5 you are going to have to remove the head. the tools to remove the cup are a big tap and slide hammer for removal and not sure abut the installer. never even seen a cracked cup much less heard of one needing replacement. are you sure you have fuel in your coolant?
I am positive about the fuel being in the coolant because I took some out and it lit on fire when the torch was put to it. I talked to a local shop on the phone and the tech told me that he has done a couple and that if it was one of the back ones, that pulling the head was quite likely but could also be done by remove a/c unit. However he didn,t have time to give any good diagnostic procedures an narrowing search before disassembly, or part #,s of removal tools. Any help would be great.
I'm not positive about the gold coolant but ethylene glycol in whatever form is still alcohol and will burn. I don't know how you cracked an injector sleeve, but they are a major PAIN to take out and you won't want to do it in the truck unless you're comfortable with metal pieces bouncing around on top of your pistons and going through your valves. Why do you think it's fuel coming out of the degas bottle? Is it white when it dries or????

Yes i am positive it is diesel fuel in the degas bottle as it has sprayed out all over under the hood and it smells like diesel plus when checking the coolant mixture none of the ***** float. plus when water or coolant is added to a cup of the fluid i removed it goes straight to the bottom and will not mix together.
