windshield keeps fogging?

I have a 2001 f350 psd, it has 94000 miles on it. I have been noticing lately that the inside of the windshield keeps getting a film on it, kind of like its fogging. I did wonder if its a leaking heater core but I dont smell anti-freeze at all. I dont smoke so I know its not from that. I will clean the darn windshield real good and the next thing I know its all filmy again and its kind of hard to get it all wiped off. Has anyone else had this problem, maybe it is a small heater core leak, thanks

First thing i was gonna ask before i even read this post was if you smoke. I have never heard of this problem before, perhaps it could be a small leak.

I had this happen to me in a Caddy Seville, small leak in the core like a pin hole. That's probably it.

Heater core is the most likely suspect.

Ok, Is it hard to get to the heater core. I have replaced them on other verhicles, just not a powerstroke.

Wow... second or third thread on this issue in two days. Must be the season. I'm pricing out one for my truck right now because I can already smell the anti-freeze and want to get it done quickly.

It is possible the drain is plugged. Any water on the floor in the passenger side? If not, it is most likely a heater core. They are pretty easy to change. I just did mine this past weekend. Check out this thread.

Good luck!

Along with my antifreeze odors in the cab, I'm beginning to smell a full system flush, extra filter installation, and new heater valve for improved A/C performance. I just hope it holds together until I can get all my parts to the house.

My floor is wet on the passenger side and I assume it was the heater core. What else could it be? What drain plugged? (please excuse me I am a newbie here!!) Thanks!

Well, if it's not antifreeze on the floor then you can rule out the heater core. So the drain hose should be located somewhere on the engine side of the firewall about where the passengers feet would go. I don't know the exact location but is should be a small black hose typically coming out of the firewall and just ending. Blow some compressed air into the end of the hose to clear air it. It may clog again so you may have to repeat the procedure a couple times.
