I am trying to mount a camera monitor for my trailers. Only place I see to mount it, is at the center seat base down by the floor. However, when the seat back is down the headrest sticks out close to the dash cup holders when they are open.
Can't seem to be able to remove the head rest. No luck findind a mount system.
I have spent 15 minutes fooling with mine and finally gave up. Was out one day and a buddy spent about 15 minutes fooling with it. Two mechanics, 2 failed attempts to get it out. I've given up. If someone has gotten it out, please let us know.
I messed with it at a couplease of stop lights and no dice. I might mess with it some more tomorrow, but really don't thing it does. Which surprises me.
There's 2 tabs on it, same as the other headrests. That middle back one does seem to be a little tricky though, but I've had mine off before. Unless they changed them from 14 to 15.
As said earlier, there are 2 tabs that have to be pushed in. The tabs are on the driver side. I had to stuff my fingers in there and squeeze pretty hard while prying up at the same time. It may help to have some squeeze the tabs while someone else pulls it up. Heres a pic to help visualize the tabs.
Cool. Perfect picture.I will give it another try. That gap between the seat base and the cup holder is where I want to mount my camera monitor. Or some sort of extender mount.
The 06 had a ton of room in that area. Thanks
I took mine out, removed padding and cover and made a good cupholder. I drink a lot of iced drinks that sweat so it works good. Could have cleaned it up more but too lazy.

Well, maybe I'll screw with it some more then. I knew the buttons were there, but despite my best efforts it still felt like it was going to break, so I stopped fooling with it. Did notice hooking the 5th up tonight that the rear center one is annoying too.
Not sure if you can tell in the picture but I took the drivers side head rest out of my 2015 because it being a regular cab you cant tilt the seat back and as you know the head rests tilt forward so it was like driving with someone pushing my head down. The actual point I'm getting to is if you happen to have a regular cab be careful. The rods that go down in the seat are spring loaded and when I pulled it out those rods hit the back window so hard its beyond me how it didnt break. And as someone else said two people is about the only way, one to push those buttons in and the other to pull it out.
