I need help on this one, here is the story, when my truck is on a low idle i can hear a vibration from inside the vehicle, if i step outside i can't hear it, i figure it might be the exhaust, it doesn't do it all the time, and it usualy stop at high idle or when i drive. Any idea? Thanks ( This is my first diesel), bought it used a month ago.
Maybe one of the donut gaskets on the up pipes is leaking exhaust. Perhaps causing the pulses to be felt throught the cab since they're right next to the firewall, but not as noticeable outside the truck.
Check clearances around your tranny dipstick with that 4" exhaust maybe...I had a vibration after installing mine untill I finally got irritated enough and figured it out.
I'm with these guys on the exhaust. Have a buddy grab the exhaust starting at the down pipe and work his way back while you listen in the cab.
If not there then you'll be on your own checking up pipe, and things under the hood. Go buy yourself at least a Haynes manual or one that has torque specs and just start turning. These diesels need a going over like the pre Evo Harleys. They vibrate and the springs are stiff so things can get loose.
You'll get to know your truck faster that way too.
