Hi guy's, I've been reading and learning alot on this site. All for starting mods. BUT my 99 stock truck says otherwise! One thing I know is listen to the truck. Now down to the problem. I have read the thread Zwalter has had problems fixing. The difference I have is, all I have to do is add oil to the engine and it will start. The oil seems to be coming out from the top of the engine and dripping dripping down by the starter. I also noticed a puddle of oil on top of the motor . I'm very thankful for all the knowledge you guys have given me and hope you can help me.
Well my wife took the truck to her mechanic today. Over the phone he thought it was a oil pressure switch thenafter looking he thought high pressure oil line. Next now it's the high pressure pump. All this info. was free so now I'm wondering how hard this is to change myself. And if anyone knows of a good place to get one at areasonable price. He said $700. I would appreciate any insight you guys can give me.
Its not that bad of a R&R and you could save a bit of money. The price in that link is with the 150 core that you get back. PM me your email address and I'll send you the procedure.
The guy that looked at this tried to replace the switch and said it just popped out and sprayed oil all over. Does this mean the pump is working and is blocked somewhere?
O.k I stand corrected! the true problem isnt that the HPOP is gone. It is that one of the line has been loose and apparently stripped the threads en the pump over time. So now I have a good pump with bad threads on one line.
