Anything here I should be concerned about?
Registered once as a personal vehicle then first owner reported shortly after?
Then title updated with correction- two different title numbers
Let me know
Thanks

I'd be curious why the owner sold it at auction after a year and a half. Most of us would have traded the unit or sold it outright. Auctions are handy for insurance companies to get rid of vehicles they've had to buy...that would be my concern.
Well, where do I go from here, any suggestions. Got the oasis, got the carfax.
About ready to throw in the towel as ive been looking for a long time. I need to get something but dont want to get screwed over either..
Help

You don't know whether the owner sold it or not, all you know is the truck was sold. There's no record of body repairs, so my guess is...it was repossessed. When lending institutions repossess a car, they must keep it for a certain length of time. Unless the registered owner makes other arrangements...the next stop is the auction block.
The title change could be something simple, like adding a family member. And the title refers to registration. There also may be a legal owner listed on the title...SOP when a car loan is used for a purchase.

With all the information that is available at everyones finger tips, why is it so hard to find out about something like a vehicle.
It seems to be more secretative then our identities!
Even though carfax gets records from the DMV. Can the Local DMV tell me anything more or will that be impossible?
What about my Insurance Company, if I give them the VIN#

Find out who the original selling dealer was. Dealers must keep records on sales for a minimum of five years. From the dealer, you can find out if there was a loan, and who the lender was. Here again, lenders must keep the records. And once the lender is known, you can find out what happened next.
If there was no loan, then it could have been a buy back, or the owner traded it in to another dealer. Dealers don't necessarily keep all their late model trades, many head for the auction block within 30-90 days.
Isn't this the truck that was at the dealership where the salesman told you it would "take time todig up" the paperwork? That's a bald faced lie, as all the data is stored on computers and obtainable in seconds. Why deal with someone that's a liar...forget about it and look elsewhere.
