Exhaust tip

My 94 300 has the dual rear exit flowmaster exhaust and the tips bend out one more time than I'd like. They're 2.5" and I was looking to get a 3" tip to replace. I'd appreciate some opinions on this decision if anyone thinks it's a good idea/bad idea.

Is it going to sound high and ricer-like if I do? It sounds pretty nice now and don't want to lose it, I just don't like how it unnecessarily curves out again. I'm doing it mostly for looks.

It will make very little difference in the sound of the truck.
