Seen these clear diff covers in a couple of different places and they look pretty cool I was just wondering if anyone has one and what they thought of it?
Do a search for Clear Gearz. From what I have heard they are great. They are strong and tough to break. They are mainly for looks and the fact that you can see how much fluid is in there. I think they do have some extra oil capacity too. If I didn't like chrome so much that is what I would of gotten...
Yeah, this is one of those "to each their own" type things, IMHO.
On the pros side:
You can check fluid levels at a glance.
You can check for fluid contamination and introduction of water after four-wheeling
I suppose there is some form of bling factor, if you are into that sorta thing
On the con side:
Questionable integrity shoudl the diff meet a large immobile object on the trail.
The bling factor, if you aren't into that sorta thing.
I suppose you could put a rock guard in front of the cover to give it some additional protection.
