Folks I have a kenmore dryer,it's an older unit maybe 8-10 years, Last week it started making a raquet, like a clicking noise. Sounds like a bearing popping or something. It still works normal on every setting and drys the clothes like it always has. I pulled the back of and checked things out. Can't really find anything wrong. Cleaned the unit out and put everything back together,it still works and still makes the noise. I didn't dissassemble the whole thing and check everything out just took a good look and cleaned it. Any body got any ideas or is familiar with this stuff?
There are two rollers (that have sealed bearings I think) that support the drum on the opposite end from the motor/belt/pulley. They go bad over time. You have to remove the drum to get to them. They are only a few $$$ and I suggest you replace both of them. It is an easy job. You were not very far away from finding them.
Well I saw the roller on the bottom right side opposite the motor. I pryed on it and it moved a little but when I ran it and got close to where that roller is the sound seems like its coming from the front topside top of the machine. I don't know. Thinking bout lettin it die and goin to get a new one.
