And the computer will tell them if the programming has been tampered with.

LOL

BTW the duramax weight for weight, and mod for mod will out run about anything out there. But the SCT 6.0's are quick. Dang quick for just a programmer and no tranny or anything.

EFI Live make the duramax shine much more. LBZ's and LMM's will be the easiest modded dmax yet. LMM's will take a little more time b/c of the DPF but the LBZ are setting sweet with mods.

yeah let's just hope that there are gonna be some good mods and tuners out there for the 6.4 so that us ford guys can get to be more competitive with the dmax's and the cummins... it seems like the 6.4 should have lots of potential, stock with twin turbos saves a lot of money over getting a twin turbo kit, i mean you might have to change the housing but big whoop! it's a lot cheaper than buying an 8k twin turbo kit, who knows maybe those stock turbos can even be tuned up to like 80psi haha, you might need to rebuild your entire engine though before you do that haha and those piezo electric injectors can let pretty much any amount of fuel in right? that's what i heard at least

LOL....what a ridiculous and unfounded statement.

No dmax is going to throw 1500 lbs in his truck just so a race with a Ford is comparitive. Face it, the Fords are weighted for towing/hauling, not racing. The GMs, well, they'll always be better at racing for obvious cheap reasons.

Ford already outhauls everyone else. How much more competitive do you mean?

If you're taking about racing, then that's not what a Ford was built for. If you race a superduty, you're already disadvantaged from the start with a much heavier frame and overall truck build. Go get a toy if you want to race.

There are several PSD owners out there that use their vehicles for both. Luke is one of them. Some even leave their tool boxes and snow plow adapters on and make 11.xx passes.

don't worry i personally don't wanna race, mudding is my style but i mean getting competitive in that feild would benifit all of us psd owners, even if we don't race, if more of a % of people start moddin their psd's cause they see them competing with the dmax and cummins, than we will have more aftermarket available to us, companies only make things that will sell, why would they make they're best and most expensive (from their standpoint, to test/design) products for us when there aren't as many of us out there to buy the products? but i do like knowing that it's a challenge to get a 7500-8000 lb truck to keep up with these 6000-6500 lb toys and to get that amount of power through what is available to us

wats the fuel econmy for all the 06 trucks? i know ford is the lowest being heavier built and a smallest motor besides the cummins. but i think the dmax is the perfect race truck with a low weight, 6sp auto, and the biggest motor verses the rest.

If someone would anty-up and build a common rail 7.3 I don't think the duramix would stand a chance.

ford has new plans for a 7.3 in the wait i heard, let's just hope that they seriously consider it as an option and if they do that it's just as or more reliable than the old psd 7.3's... just add a bit more power stock (easy with the 7.3's seeing as they're the most powerful psd's out there all modded up...), new injectors, fix cam sensor (had it go out on me 2 times in 215,000 miles, not bad but the first time was around 50k, has anyone else had this happen?), and they're set for HUGE profits with VERY happy customers!
