I have a 1987 Ford Bronco II. I have checked fuel rail...no pressure, fuel lines...no pressure, am looking for the inertia switch user manual says its under the dash but can't find it. Thanks in advance for all replys.
the inertia switch is on the passenger side floorboard to the left of the kickpanel, you may have to pull the carpet down just a little bit, once you find that and reset it..if you still have no pressure, check to make sure you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key to the "on" position,it should come on just briefly..let us know what you find...
d'OH. The inertia swich is mounted on the floorboard / firewall just to the right of the tranny hump. There should be an orange / light blue striped and a pink / black striped wire (2 wires) going to the connector that plugs up to it. IF it has been bypassed, make sure the connections are TIGHT (i.e., splice them together with butt connector(s)). If you can't hear the pump running for a couple of seconds or so when you first turn the ignition key to 'run', then check the output of the fuel pump relay (located passenger side inner fender, towards the rear of the starter solenoid). You should be able to locate it by the output wire (orange / light blue). There is a procedure for testing all of this on autozone.com's repair guides. What you will do is jumper the fuel pump test wire on the diagnostic connector to ground, listen for the fuel pump(s) running. If you have output at the relay, you're good. If you have output from the inertia switch, you're good. If the pump(s) are still not running, check your connectors for the high-pressure in-line pump under the driver's side frame rail, and check the connection on the top of the fuel tank. If all your electrical connections are good.... and no dice on the pumps running, then the pumps may have failed and need replacement. Again, there is a procedure on autozone.com's repair guides for testing fuel pump / pressure:
