Just a further point about advertizing dollars. The Toyota and GMC are brand new trucks, so they are spending much more on ads than the tried and true Ford. When the MY09 F150 comes out, Ford will be spending the dollars and winning the comparison tests.
I love those comparisons, but don't take the results at face value.
their is a test i like to do to trucks....a hill that is local to my house....i'll get to the bottom of the hill and have the truck in high gear and get into the gas without it downshifting and see how far i can get up the hill....with my truck i get all the way up....i lose like 6 to 8 mph going up.....
my buddy has a chebby with the 5.3 and his downshifts....
another friend has a titan and his will get all the way up but lose more mph...
then we did it with a trailer and a skid of block...
with the block out of OD....my truck all the way up......
chevy downshifted
titan downshifted
thats all i needed to see....and to top it off my truck feels much more stable with a trailer and weight behind it...
Nissan can be considered a good truck but. my uncle use the have one it was raised looked nice orange and KC roof bar, trany was bad he drove it hard but it had 297,000kms when it was sold starter was gone. but I do belive a Titan is no match for my work truck.
