does a 351C and a 351W have the same sized block? What about the 302? has anybody
ever put a 351C in there Bronco.Do they bolt up to the tranny?
And is there a good web site to find out these kind of things?

302's and 351m's (better known as 351 windsor) are small blocks and have the same bolt patterns. They don't share much else though. A 351c is better known as a 351 cleveland and has a big block bolt pattern. If you go with a 351c you will need a block tranny or an adapter plate. The 351c is a great motor but not really that good for a Bronco. The 351c developes its horses at high rpm's and a trick 351c will turn 7000 to 9000 rpm's a little high for a off road truck. IMHO a 460 would be a better choice. Hope this helps and Good Luck,

302/351w has a small block bolt pattern
a 351m has a big block bolt pattern, this does not mean it is a big block, just the bolt pattern for the tranny is.
a 351c has alot of the same parts as a 351m/400 but retains the small block bolt pattern for the tranny.
your going to have alot of work to go from a 302 to a 351w, but even more in going to a 351m or 351c.

The 351M engine is related to the 400.These 351M/400 engines have the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 385-series 429/460 big-blocks.The 351M can be built to produce some good power, but a 351W would be a better choice in a later-model Bronco. It will create more power, and meet emmission laws better. The 302&351W are both members of the Windsor small-block engine family.A 302 can benefit from a lot of the same upgrades you can do to a 351W.Both the 351M/400 engines are techically considered small-block V-8s.They were created to meet tougher emmission laws of the '70's.The 400 was supposed to replace the 460,but THAT never happened......nothing can replace a 460.IMHO(in my honest opinion),the 460 should've been a factory option for the Bronco. This is a popular swap for '78-'86 model years, but a '87-'96 EFI460-powered Bronco would've been awesome! So if you're going 351,go 351W,but I agree that for the ultimate stump-pullin',tire-squealin',plant you in the seatback when you tromp on it......go for a 460.

How is it going and i would like to say that it would be easy but then it would not be u would have to find a truck that had a 460 and take the wireing harness and then the cumputer and then if u have a C-6 trans u are ok but even then u would have to find out wich bell houseing u have and then u have to buy or make a set of motor mounts and but every thing back to gether and if u have a 78-79 u will have to take every thing a most witht the motor!!!!!!!! have fun but to tell the truth it is worth it...

if your going from a small block to big block your going to need a new trany if it is a automatic, if manual all you need is the bell housing.
Bell housings on autos are not changable like manuals.
