I'd like to put a reciever hitch on my truck so that getting a roll pan wont render my "TRUCK" useless. I'm looking to go the Ebay route since I cant dig one up around home here for the right price. My question is if the bumper mounting holes/frame width are the same for Rangers from 94-current? For example I found one that was a factory take-off from an 03 Ranger at a reasonable price there on Ebay. Wondering if it may fit if it or any other years could fit if it came to it?
The quick answer to that is to make a cardboard template of your rear frame mounting location and check/measure a late model unit. I'm lookin' up chassis specs for the different years. I'll get back if I find anything usefull.
Thanks fflintstone. I came across the uhaul branded style and like it. Found it for pickup only in New Jersey. After searching on that specific one it actually said it fit all Rangers. So maybe I have nothing to worry about. Tho the one that was a factory takeoff from an 03 had a part of the mount that bolted to the outside edge of the frame as well as one set of bolt holes for the bumper. That was what brought the questioning up. I just didnt know if that'd possibly work or not.
I put an 02 ranger hitch on my 99, B, it was exact fit. What I do is go to etrailer, look up the two trucks in question and see if the part numbers match.
I just checked and they list the same part number for both 1994 and 2003 Ford Ranger.
Hey Benaghetto, I have the OEM unit off my 04 if you are interested. I bent one of the little tabs on it a smidge...nothing that couldnt be straightened back out easy, and the insurance company bought me a brand new one. If you want it let me know.

I would be interested actually. Do you happen yo have a pic of it, or can you get one? How much would you be thinking you'd want for it? I see your in Higgensville, save me some shipping costs anyway.
I would let it go for $50. I will try to get some pics of it tomorrow when its light out. Like I said...one mount tab is slightly bent but the paint on it is still good but not a glossy black anymore....it only has about 30K miles of road time on it and maybe towed about 300 miles worth and its an OEM unit that was on the truck from the factory when I bought it new.
Thanks, I'm watching an aution on ebay right now that ends saturday for a uhaul branded hitch. I'm looking to get a rollpan and wanted a used hitch so i wouldnt chop up a new hitch. I'm looking to relocate the hitch position and think that it'll require some cutting/welding. The uhaul style hitch looks like I could possibly just drill new holes to move the hitch part forward towards the truck cab and up some. I'll let you know how the auction works out. This is all so when I install that rollpan I dont have this hitch just hanging out there.
