since the weather was nice today i washed it and found numerous what looks to be rust specs on my truck. i dont know what is up with that since i keep it washed and treat it nice. does anyone have any idea what this might be from, any fixes that would be a great help. I seen a post down the way and a rust and corrosion warranty was mentioned. The only problem is i have 38k miles on my truck.
Well where are the spots? Are they all over? It could have been surface rust from the train voyage from the factory. I know a few people have had to deal with that.
I use to deliver cars/trucks on a Big Rig. Picked them up at a local Rail Head where they came in via train.
It's somewhat common...it's called "Rail Dust".
Well can anyone give me some solutions then please........
I would use a good compound or better yet, Clay the surface followed by a polish and wax...done deal.
"Rail Dust" shows the most on white surfaces. I've seen it time and time again and this is one of the reasons why some Vehicle manufactures ship their autos with plastic on the top surfaces.
This is the third year for the same issue, coming from the rotors ..... as you apply the brakes ,the rotors "flake" off and the particles stick to the truck body. Been back to the dealership 2 years and they have taken care of it for me .... doubt that I can get them to do it again. Looks like I have some elbow bending to do this year
