I'm new to this site. So far I like what I've read .... and seen ! The Fords in the background of that Toy-ota commercial is unreal !! I'm still LMAO !! Takes a real truck to do the grunt work. The problem I have is that it appears that I'm not getting any gas to the engine. I've looked at that valve on the fuel rail to the injectors, the one that looks like a valve on a tire stem. Had the key on accessory while pressing on the relief valve on the fuel rail, and wasn't getting any fuel. I wanted to see if any fuel was getting up to the gas filter, but wasn't sure how to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter. I have a feeling that my fuel pump went bad. The truck is a '99 SD Lariat super cab with a 6 foot box, 2WD, V-10 auto. I have about 93,000 carefree miles on it, sans ball joints about three years ago and your basic maintenance ... e.g. brakes, shocks, ect. It sat for a while in my garage, about 6 weeks of cold Michigan winter weather. Thought bad fuel at first, but it's not even getting close to firing up. How hard is it to remove the fuel line from the filter, with the possibility of removing the gas tank for the fuel pump. Thanks ahead of time for any responses !
I've checked the 20 amp. fuse related to the fuel pump. That's o.k. I've looked at the fuel pump relay and doesn't appear to be 'popped' out of position. There's a hole in the right side kick panel for easy access to the relay button. I'm thinking of taking the panel off and looking a bit deeper into the relay situation. Thanks MSgtG.
