I found the 4 spare wires that run through the firewall and used one. They are solid coor wires that are bare at both ends. On the dash side I also found 4 smaller wires that had a sealed end. These wires are smaller in diameter, and are multi colored (eg: green/yellow stripe). Does anyone know where these striped and capped wires go?
What truck do you have? Do you have upfitter switches? Sounds like the ones that go through the fire wall are the extra wires Ford puts in so you don't need to fish wires through the fire wall. If you have the upfitters the multi color ones would be for them. They should be marked. Look in the Tech folder it explains a lot.
The four 'blunt cut' pass-through wires are the same color on both sides of the firewall. Red, Black, Blue and White. They are roughly central, between the knees, bent over and wrapped in a larger harness just up under the lower dash. Use a bright light, on your back and you can't miss 'em.

capped wires are for upfitter two 10 amp two 30 amp I think?
I can't remember what the colors were but I had 3-4 that were used for options like PTO and such. I used one and hooked to up for the High Idle Mod. I remember they were very close to the pass through wires. Maybe these are what you are seeing if you dont have 'upfitter' switches. Look in the tech folder for something called "High Idle Mod", I remember it talked about the wires under the dash and what they do.
Just letting you know what they could be...not sure though...thats what they were in my truck. Its a '04 250 6.0 lariet 4X4
Thanks for the replies. I am guessing that the wires I am asking about are for the up-fitter switches. My truck doesn't have the switches installed. Btw, it is an 04 F-250 Crew Cab. Since I don't have the switches, where would I find the other end of the wires in question? I am guessing somewhere behind the glove-box?

Are you looking for 1 of the four pass-through wires? One of the colors above?

No, I found the wires on both sides of the fire wall. I am looking for the other end of the wires that are cut and capped under the dash behind the fuse panel.
You won't find the "other ends" as they are wired to various truck setup's, like for PTO, which is then wired to the upfitter switch's if you want that option. You would have to read the body builders guide for all the things those wires are for. Look through the Tech file in this folder and Super Duty.
