engine swap trans question
I blew up my 300 straight six in the black beast and have another motor in my old truck. the bronco is a 1985(4x4) with the 300 and a 4speed/w a granny first gear the truck that has the new motor is a 1986 f-150 with a 300 and a 4speed with overdrive with a new clutch. what i need to know is can I unbolt the trans and leave the bellhousing on the motor will the one setup match the other? In otherwords are the bellhousings the same?

I did not really blow it up. something broke internally. the crank turns when I turn the motor over but the cam and the distributer do not turn. I figure eather the cam gear broke or the keyway on the crank gear broke. Eather way the motor has to come out.
