Hello, has anyone tried putting a nova front bench seat in our cabs? Like an early 70"s. I like the way they 1/2 fold to get behind the seat. I know pre55's dis it with the small cabs about the only way to get behind the seat without opening both doors . If you added a armrests?
The only way to know for sure is to measure the floor mount bolt spacing. I am pretty sure it can be done since you will most likely need to add a little bit of height with brackets to see over the steering wheel.
As indicated, take measurements. Adjusting the seat may also be an issue w/ the seats setting low, particularly if you have the 4 speed. Wonder if the nova back section would mount to the existing bottom section.
Mid 70s & up FoMoCo supercab seats are also split back bench seats. They bolt right in on 61-66 tracks & work fine. The 61-66 tracks are needed because supercab tracks allow too much back & forth travel so seat usually hits fuel tank when fully back.
Plus FoMoCo Seats, especially from an XLT, Ranger or Lariat, are heck of a lot more comfortable than those "low end", El Cheapo, Blow Tie, seats ever were/are. . . .

Oh wait ranger seats will fit??? I knew the full size would. Are they wide enough??? I had a mazda B4000 and loved the 60/40 split. I was under the inpression that they were too narrow. That would open up alot of possiblities. Most of the pick-n-pulls the interiors are stripped clean. But there are lots of rangers floating around.

FBp is not refering to the little ranger trucks from the 80's and on. The "ranger", "xlt", and "lariat" are mainly body/interior packages that started coming out in 65 or 66 and are used to this day. Keep the big trucks in your mind while looking for seats.

In regards to bob's comment regarding the armrest, think will find after 66 the std Ford truck seats are slightly wider. Installed 86 Lariat seat in 65 and removed passenger side armrest.
Mark is right bob, I was refering to F Series Trucks F-100 thru F-350 & the Supercabs in the F series started in 74 or 75 if I recall correctly, if I hit that wrong somebody will stand me up right I'm sure, but suffice to say mid 70 F series Supercab Trucks.
In my case I have no Fuel tank in the cab with me, and where that used to be I have various creature comforts. I can access them while driving along by leaning the Pass Side seatback forward & rooting around in that big "MT" Space back there.
Armrests are No Issue with OEM "Split Back" Bench seats as their seatbacks do not lean straight forward like a single bench seat, seatback, does. Instead they angle inward toward the cab center area clearing armrests with inches to spare, or at least the one in my 66 cab does.

Bob,
Put your speakers in corners aimed toward center of cab "space". Form corner boxes angled off to block the area, keeping things from dropping in the hole or rolling out the door when you open it.
Use particle Board, OSB, or any material lacking density & grain continuity to fabricate the Spk'r Boxes for sound quality. Don't forget to leave 1-3/8" or 1-1/2" (inch) vent holes for air to exchange behind speaker cones.
Cover it all including the insulation you install on your cab interior back wall with that thin carpeting material found in trunk of Grand Marquis, Crown Victorias and Lincoln Town cars at your local U-Pull It Yard.
I even sound deadened the area with padding & carpeting before & built the racks for stuff I keep back there, CDs, Tunes Player, CB, Cold Drink Cooler, racks & storage area & compartments, jacket hooks hat holder, etc etc
"Mock It Up" by using heavy Corregated Cardboard and tape, then use the cardboard for/as your templates and cut what you need from low density materials I mentioned.
It's not like building Kitchen cabinets or a house, it's really easy if you think it all out & mock it up.
