Idiot Light...

So I was trying to plan my trip today so I would wind up home with less than 5 gallons in the tank today. Well, it worked. The idiot light came on 3 miles from the house. The reason for this is to make the intank mod as easy as possible tomorrow.

My only question, for those brave enough to answer, how many miles have you gone with that light on, how far down does the needle go?

I have to drive to the shop and back to drop a load in the morning, 55 mile round trip.

Any suggestions?

The light "Should" come on with about 2 gallons in the tank.

When I did the intanks I drove till the light came on and then did another 20 miles. When i dropped the tank there was just under 1 gallon in there.

I've gone as far as 60 miles, although once I went about 40 and literally was running out when pulling in the station. My fuel psi went from 70 to 5...

I'd put 3 gallons in to go with the few you have. You'll likely burn more than 3 on your round trip.
