New a/c compressor question

I have an a/c system from a 79 bronco for my 78 truck. I want to know the scoop on replacing the compressor and brackets. I want a smaller compressor, and I would like to mount it low, so it's not so ugly. Anyone ever done this?

May I suggest checking out the air conditioning forum for options.

You will have to go with aftermarket or a car type compressor.

I know I need an aftermarket compressor. That's why I asked. I posted it in here because people with the same vehicle as me could show me some pictures of their set-ups, and/or tell me where they got their stuff. I don't need to know where someone got a kit for a 56 F-100 or 85 Bronco. I need to know where people are going to get stuff for 73-79 trucks. Maybe someone in here has bought a retrofit kit that I havent been able to find on the 'net. Nobody knows everything, nor do I expect them to, but every time I post a question in here, you reply but never answer anything. When I don't know the answer to a question, I just let someone else answer it. I don't mean to be offensive, but it's getting ridiculous.

Is that the way you talk to a Information Booth person or Wal-mart greeter ?

Believe it or not I DID answer.
The Air-conditioning forum has threads that were originally posted there but also Threads that were posted in truck forums by mistake and got moved there.

Try thinking differently.

Try thinking.. Mil1ion does his best to redirect people to a GOOD spot for info.

Take a look OUTSIDE your Box.

You see ....the air conditioning forum is where Air conditioning questions like yours go. People who are experienced in specific systems operation hang out in the favourite topics.
Not everyone who Knows A/C systems Visits THIS 73-79 FORUM.

Like NOT everyone has AC in their 73-79

You see The FTE Specific systems forums are to be used just as much as
Year Specific forums.... that's why they were created.

Q's!

Could your idea be used in an 80-86 truck ?

yes.

How about a 67-72 truck ?

Yes

You get a top notch suggestion and Rag on the guy that gives it.

Maybe Think about that and change your thought process ?

BTW, I didn't say DON'T post here.

I said maybe check out the AC forum for info.

and an ADDITIONAL thing to do

When at the grocery store.... do you go to the Meat Department to get a can of spam ?

I help more people in an HOUR than you have even posted on FTE.

Have a look around !
