I was just curious who here has gotten a memorial tattoo in honor of a loved one. What did you get and where? I just had mine done in memory of my daughters.
interesting thread. i'd like to do one in memory of my wife and dad. i've got the artistic sense of a guy with crayons though. can't wait to see suggestions.
and i hope i am reading your post wrong and you havent lost your daughters.
I never really had the desire to get a tattoo, just not my thing. I have seen some though on forearms, chest, upper arms, etc. They all have something to do with what the particular person they are for liked, hobbied etc. I like above poster, hope I am reading into this wrong.
I got one on the drawing board, it is of death and rebirth. Kind of like a celtic style cross with my daughters name and her birth date and my fathers name with the time of his departure.
this picture was taken a day after i got it. i want to add the her birthday and the day she passed under it.
Exactly what I had in mind, only no ribbon, and the cross is concrete looking with stress cracks alone the whole thing.
Really sharp looking tat though!
When I have some time I'll take some pics of mine. Mine are getting old (all 6 of them) but they are still holding up good. Seeing what you have makes me wanna get some ink done quickly.

I really hope your daughters are OK like big daddy said. Having a daughter myself I couldn't even begin to imagine your pain.
Never a big fan of tats, but after losing a great friend a yr ago (don't drink and drive), i've been thinking/somewhat working on a "memorial" tattoo.. or whatever you wanna call it. It's sad to lose a close friend, let alone a family member. I've been thinking of doing something for my grandpa too (who's was/is basically an older "me"). I don't know. Nice to see pictures though. And oval, by memories, i hope you don't mean they passed. If so, god bless.
Yes, my wife and I lost our daughters at birth almost 2 months ago now after they decided they were ready to come out 4 months early. My wife and I got matching tattoos of 2 hearts connected with their foot prints inside of the hearts and their names besides the hearts. My wife's is on her back and mine is on top of my heart.
Thanks for thoughts about reading this wrong, I wish it was that way but I'm sure that there is someone on this site that could really relate.
Heavy sigh...
My wife's twins came 3 months early; she spoils-em rotten. Even though her doting violates my German-Irish farmboy sensibility, every day they are home is a gift to us. They are 17 now.
I don't think my imagination can even touch what you and your Mrs. are going through right now, but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
My-self, I've seen only one tat I considered wearing to the grave: A Viet Nam vet pulled off his left boot, on his big toe it said "hang tag here". In my mind, everything else is just a fad and subject to change over time. I'm not gonna knock your choice, and I'm sure as hell not gonna knock the way you feel right now. Sounds like an awesome tat, maybe someday it will be avatar material.
