hi
looking through the wiring harness of my f150 (92 model) i found a solenoid-type thing unconnected. when connected, it starts beeping as soon as i put ignition on, like a light warner, but it doesnt stop no matter what i am doing.
so i think the thing was disonnected due to being defected.
but i need to identify the item to check first if maybe it reacts to a problem somewhere else. so what is this? its part number sais "motorcraft e4eb - 10b924 - ab"
i didnt find anything about it on the net.
Probably like the one in my truck...never shuts up...so someone unplugged it. Its the warning for when you leave the keys in the ignition or leave your headlights on by accident. My ignition in the steering column is screwy, unless you have the key in a certain way, it will ding ding ding forever when the truck is off.
I don't think he is referring to the ignition ding, sounds like he said it was a continuous buzz. rb25, if it sounds like a typical door chime (intermittent beeps) then I would just leave it unplugged, they are NOTORIOUS for being haywire in these trucks, even though the one on my current truck still works pretty damned good
Could it be some type of anti-theft device? I know some trucks had them from the factory. Mine has the light on the dash, nothing else.
Just a thought.
