I'm stuffing a 7.5 out of a '90 F-250 into my '70 F-100 and have been looking into what I can do to a stock or mild build motor.
in the future I'd like to go supercharger and would prefer a roots type but all I've been able to locate are the remote mount and i've never like those.
well... how much are you willing to spend? if you ditch the fuel injection top end (heads, exhaust, intake) and swap in some trick flow streets, bigger dish pistons, forged rods, blower intake, blower cam, and like an 8v71 blower with dual 4 barrel carbs its doable... but with it being fuel injected youre severely limited on things you can do to it. if youre on a tight budget you can find some d3ve heads and a 4 barrel intake and carb, do a mild port job on the exhaust, and throw a mild cam in and be good to go... the shortblock is the same from 1979 up, but when they went to fuel injection in 1988 they changed the whole top end and nothing there is backwards compatible

if it were a 96-97 engine youd have more options because theyre mass air... but the 90 is speed density so youre pretty much screwed. another thing you could do for more power is a stroker kit- if it were mass air. a 545 stroker kit is about 1900 dollars... but then the intake is too restrictive for that much displacement and there arent really aftermarket fuelie intakes

I don't think the MASS air is really a simple bolt on type deal? But I have no personal experience with it, so.....
While the roots blowers do offer better aesthetic value, I believe the centrifugal are more efficient and have greater capabilities. You also have the option of adding a intercooler inline.
Good luck, cant wait to see the results. Keep us posted here on the forum.
BTW-->I love the "Blown small block" link

Reason: spelling
Most all of the reports and posts that I have seen concerning the EFI 460, is that headers are a great bolt on.
A great bolt on approach?: I think with headers, throttle body, free flowing air intake that is able to draw the coolest air possible, BIG free flowing exhaust and a supporting tune with possibly bigger injectors and something to boost the ignition would be a great approach if money allowed. You are going to have a custom air filter setup and exhaust anyways, so if you make the most of those, you are already taking away alot of the factory restriction.
The blower from Vortech would be another great option and to my knowledge it comes with all the supporting mods (ignition box with a boost referenced adjustment and fuel mods).
