Im painting my frame but i am a bit concerned about colours, id tried gloss black looks ok, but not quite what i was after, but the flat or satin black certainly looks good! ive also seen a few on here paint there frames a grey colour , now thats also appealing but if its gloss grey i think it would take away from the frame .
Im into 70s muscle and i like the look of the satin black like the engine bay etc, but the grey certainly gives it the more industrial look ,any other comments or ideas.
It depends on the look your going for. Do you want it to stand out or blend in? Are you doing a daily driver or a show truck? Its just metal. It will take any color you want to put on it.
Grabber,
Any color of the rainbow and that's about how many opinions you could get. For me I like the idea of matching the body color. Ultimately, you need to do what you think looks good!
I will hopefully be painting my frame soon. I am going to paint it a dark Grey, Gun metal/Anthrasite. This will match the wheels, Front Grille and a few other details with the Truck itself being a contrasting Electric Orange.
But as has already been said, it really is a matter of personal choice.
I think that the most important thing though apart from the colour (sorry, Color) is that the frame gets good prep and a decent sealing with an anti rust type product before it gets the colour unless you go for an all in one type product that is already the colour you want.
LwLandy--I am in the same boat as you.My frame is in primer-and I am not sure which color to go with. The cab/doghouse is Black-the frame needs to stand out,and I think MEDIUM GRAY Is the color for me.I think it would be easier to go black.I don't know--hope you can make up your mind too!Cheers--BILL
