any idea how it started?

did you have cruise control?

was it fixed per the recall notice?

very hard to recover from a fire that bad.

sorry it happened and hope no one was hurt.

I would bet money on it. The recall was done just to prevent this kind of thing from happening. It's a shame that you didn't know about it. That was a pretty truck.

sounds like the switch from the recall caused your fire.

it may be a waste of time but i would call ford.

i just saw that late model f150 are being recalled again for this problem or one similar.

I would call ford too. Even if you dont get anywhere at least you will know that you tried and you did what you could.

I agree, it's at least worth a phone call. If you are SURE that you never recieved the recall notice then there might be some sort coverage from Ford for this sort of thing, hell if I know.

Too bad about the truck, looked at the pics like an hour ago and couldn't stop thinkin about how much it bugged me. I hate it when I see our model truck get thrashed/ruined. I'm glad I had that recall taken care of a couple months ago. Good luck with the rebuild, be sure to keep us posted on the progress.

I had the speed control recall notice over a year ago for my '94. I am the original owner so Ford had no problem locating me. If you buy the truck used Ford may not be able to notify you.

thats a shame, it really sucks seeing these trucks in that kind of shape. i agree with what the other fellows are talking about, get a hold of ford and see what they have to say.

i had my 96 f150 in the shop last year for some body work, the guy told me they had fixed a recall, i didnt even know about the cruise control recall. i figured since i was the trucks second owner they wouldnt have been able to track me down.

just be thankful your truck wasn't in the garage or real close to your house when it went up in flames.
