I got a new master clutch cyclinder for my truck and was hoping to get a couple tips on best way to do the switch. I haven't had much experiance with these trucks so any pointers would be helpful. I can do it, I just don't want to break anything.
"You can do it in the truck. 1) Take the line off the cylinder 2) Using a bleeder kit or an old fitting of the correct size run a flexible hose from the port back to the reservior. submerge the end of the hose in brake fluid. 3) pump the pedal with slow full strokes until no bubble come out of the hose. 4) put line back on cylinder. 5) Pump the pedal a couple times then bleed at the cylinder. 6) bleed the slave cylinder."
See if you can get a friend, who's done it before, to help you. It's really easy, but it's nice to have an experienced hand. You should get yourself a shop manual.I have two,a dirty ,thumbed through one for use when I'm wrenching, and one for the house.Good luck,Steve.
If only it was that easy. You'll want to bleed the master first then the slave. I would highly recommend bench bleeding the master so you don't wear out you leg before you get to the slave.
