So how much would a used cam, intake and, NPI head cost. Probably because he will aske me how much do i want to give him. Somthing cheap obviously but fair enough to not insult him... lol I have no idea how much used parts are.
I always look on ebay to see what parts are going for. That will give you some idea how much to offer.
By the time you buy a set of NPI heads and have them ported you could probably just buy a set of ported PI heads.
Cant put PI heads on a non PI motor with out running higher octane fuels. Raises compression. Im gunna do all the work... I have porten many heads so it shouldnt be a problem.i wouldnt think more than 200 bucks.

The ported NPI heads flow better than ported PI heads...
Well obviously if you port them yourself you'll save tons of money.
And I forgot about the compression thing.
If you planing on going with forced induction then you'll want the compression as low as you can. But if no blower plans I would get the compression up there to make more power.
I wouldnt mind runnin higher compression but this summer when gas goes to 3.00 for premium. thats gunna suck a bit. So i like the flexibility. This is my daily driver and my only real reliable vehicle. I have a tapped out corolla that i drive to work, but im just waiting for it to drop out. lol... so i still want it to be flexible. I have know idea if i will ever get around to puttin a blower on this thing, to many other plans probably. This will probably be the last mod i end up doin to it.
I can get every thing cheaper than that. Like i said, my cousin has a bone yard of 97-03 f-150's. Pretty much every thing i need. And most of it he dosnt even care about because he has robbed the parts he needs. He rebuilds tons of our trucks and has a bunch of **** left over.
Swapping a PI intake onto a NPI truck is honestly not worth hardly anything. The PI truck intake is almost identical in port cross section to it's NPI counterpart. The cams do give a nice torque gain, but minimal on the HP because of the intake choices. Trucks are severely knock contrained,so a compression bump that PI heads would yeild on a NPI shortblock would be counterproductive-you'd have to seriously retard the ignition timing to get it run without pinging-even with premium fuel. Porting modular heads isn't about making the ports larger, and getting more flow-there's alot of specific things that needs to be done to get flow without hurting velocity.

That would work well, but the torque curve for the car intakes is pretty crappy for a truck. Every car that I've seen dynoed makes peak torque at around 4000 rpms, and taper off pretty quick from there. My truck,as well as a few others I've seen dynoed, make peak torque around 2500,and hold it pretty flat for awhile with a slight climb up to around 3500,then they fall off fast after that.
Plus, there's the issues with throttle cable hookup, cruise cable hookup, EGR tube hookup, and the TB inlet being on the passenger side of the car intake(unless you use a Crown Vic intake).
