94 Tranny Question

My 1994 Bronco has the 5.8L with the E4OD tranny, I have towed my travel trailer for the last two summers with no problems. This year an issue showed up, when driving at highway speeds the rpms will suddenly jump up from about 2000 to 3100 and then it feels like the tranny shifts again real hard, I don't lose any speed it feels like the tranny is slipping and then re-engaging. Any thoughts on what may be going bad? Has 160,000 miles on it.

Thanks for all your help!!!!!

94 Tranny Question

Sounds like the problem I just fixed on mine. There are numerous things that can be the problem but mine was shifting out of lockup and back. I replaced the throttle position sensor and it runs and shifts like a new one. I also cleaned the throttle body as it was pretty nasty.
