I have looked and looked for the 6637 filter and i am wanting to install it before i make my trip to the tree farm this afternoon but i cant find it anywhere. Does anyone know of a cross reference number that i can use? also do i need a section on tubing to go from the filter to the factory tubing?
I went in to carquest and they were able to cross from NAPA 6637 to another filter. There is a thread in here some where that someone lists all the cross reference parts he found.
Many have been able to get the 6637 to fit inside the factory tube. Others get a 4" exhaust pipe about 2 to 4 inches and trim to fit.
Cross Reference For 6637
I was doing some checking at my local NAPA store and some other auto part stores. I was asking for the NAPA 6637 or WIX 46637, and the only cross referenced filter that came up was a FRAM CA6818 - cost around 40$, but they would have to order it. Two stores came up with this #.
Not satisfied with this, I tried to cross the filters on the web and found a list of filters reffered to as "B.H.A.F." Big Honking Air Filters. Here is a list of different manufacturers that crossed with the FRAM CA6818:
FLEETGUARD - AH19037 DONALDSON - B105006 AFE - 20-40044
BALDWIN - PA2820 HASTINGS - AF1012 UNI - 908
CARQUEST - 87790 JOHN DEERE - PMAH19037 BIG A - 93790
CATERPILLER - 3I0005 FLEETRITE - AHR819037
LUBER-LINER - LAF2531 and a different # for NAPA - 2790 and
WIX - 42790
Sorry it is so long, I just wanted to throw these out there if someone needed one in a pinch.
P.S. I just ordered a WIX 46637 from the link & was curious if a 4" pvc sch-40 would work in lieu of the exhaust?
