Quick search question?

I'm trying to find out more info on the 429 motor I currently have in my truck. Everytime I do a search on 429 it returns no results. I've gone into few other sections and found 429 in the titles but still no results. I've even done a search on 460 and nada. Anyone have any input on this?

AFAIK 3 letter words and numbers are not indexed. Try searching for specific subjects in the 429/460 engine forum.

Please use the SUPPORT system in the MISC tab in the MENU bar for system questions. There is a FAQ section there also.

You see the 429 wasn't put in these trucks so this topic is not applicable to this forum.
This forum is for discussion of the uniqueness of the 73-79 trucks
as opposed to other year trucks.

Yet,. There is PLENTY of info in the 385 engine forum because that's where 429/460 engine topics are dicussed.

I'll have this thread moved there where I will answer any questions you have about the 429. and maybe change the title to "429 Info" because it important to have the title match the topic of the thread.

You see the Title data base is smaller & more efficient than the message box data base.

If people put the actual topic in the title it takes less time for the system to search.

ok... first off are you sure its a 429? externally theyre identical. the only parts that are different is the crank and pistons... swap them for a 460 crank and pistons and its a 460. if you look between the exhaust manifolds and the valve covers youll see some numbers... my guess is theyre probably d3ve-a2a because those are the most common heads. they could be c8ve, c9ve, or d0ve too- those are small chamber heads with adjustable valvetrane... what specifically would you like to know about your engine?
